We decided Hawaiian Food sounded good tonight. We didn't want to travel far and found Maui Express online. A small location in the Grossmont Shopping center food court. The menu looked great when we saw it. We chose the seafood plate and the orange/pineapple chicken. Oh boy what a great choice. We have plenty of food for the 2 of us. The flavors that come out in the food is so amazing. It's a mom and pop spot and they put out quality food. Even last minute as we went in at 730pm and they closed at 8pm. Please go support this location. You will not be disappointed.
hearty food run by the nicest mom and pop. the rice bowl was delicious, 6-7 for a solid portion of bbq chicken with rice and broccoli, and half the price of like anything in kearny mesa. takes a bit to walk to the food court from the parking lot but it is so worth it.
everytime we come here the food is amazing. they make everything fresh. this is our favorite Hawaiian BBQ place. the couple who works here are super friendly and hardworking
Lovely mom & pop Hawaiian cuisine in the Grossmont Center food court. I came after a quick trip to Sharp Grossmont next door. I honestly haven't been in years but it seems like prices haven't changed much. I got a coffee boba for 3.99 and the Loco moto was filling. Perfect for anyone looking for good value but also a good homecooked meal from a wonderful duo.

I been going to Maui Express for yrs! Never had bad service. Food is always on point. Love the Katsu chicken with fried rice, BBQ chicken Samin rocks, BBQ chicken plate... etc.. All good to me!! I call them mom & pop! The are sweet people.
I’ve only had snacks here while on break, but the musubi and the manapua are delicious and convenient for a stroll around the mall. The couple that runs it are very nice and make the dishes as they’re ordered.
